CITY URGES CONSERVATION AMID LOW RESERVOIR LEVELS IN THEMBISA
The City of Ekurhuleni is experiencing low storage levels in the Thembisa reservoir water supply system which has affected the water supply to parts of Thembisa.
Customers in parts of Illiliba, Matikweni, Tlamatlama, Kopanong and Emfilweni will continue to experience intermittent water supply (low water pressure to no water) due to high demand in the zone, which exceeds supply capabilities during peak demand periods.
Water tanks will be roving around to provide relief to residents in affected areas.
Businesses and residents in the Thembisa reservoir supply zone are urged to be wary of their water usage at all times and implement water-saving measures. Customers should refrain from:
• Watering or irrigation of gardens.
• Using a hosepipe to clean driveways or patios and other outdoor areas.
• Washing vehicles (including trucks) with a hosepipe.
• Filling or topping up swimming pools or water or running features.
The City of Ekurhuleni apologises for the inconvenience caused.
