Kasi D receives 60 delivery bikes
Ibazelo Section – Thembisa residents can now get their food deliveries faster from Kasi D. This achievement was made possible by First National Bank (FNB), which handed over 60 delivery bikes to Kasi D, enabling their growth and expansion. It all happened on the 16th of February, a day that was a mark of greater things for the founder of Kasi D Freddy Mahhumane (38). Three years ago, Kasi D entered the scene, ready to compete with Mr D and Uber Eats in Thembisa. Today, the business proudly serves Thembisa, Midrand, Kempton Park, Ivory Park, Kloorkop, and Kaalfontein. In a show of support for township businesses, FNB visited Ibazelo Park in Thembisa, and delivered 60 branded motorcycles to Mahhumane and his team. This initiative is part of FNB’s ongoing commitment to empower small businesses across South Africa, and to make a tangible difference in local communities.Speaking to Andiswa Batha from FNB who looks after small and medium businesses at FNB, she believes Thembisa is their biggest growth areas and they have spotted Kasi D incredible growth and resolute to assist them with bike branding, speed points, gazebos and protective gears for the drivers.“We noticed Kasi D, specializing in delivering fast food to local communities, and we were impressed by their rapid growth. That’s why we decided to partner with them, providing FNB-branded bikes and additional equipment for their drivers,” said Andiswa. This marks FNB’s inaugural partnership in local food delivery, signaling their openness to collaborate with more businesses down the line. Andiswa encouraged businesses to reach out to their local bankers or visit FNB branches for potential partnership opportunities.Mahhumane was thrilled with FNB’s contributions, which have helped modify and improve his business.”It was great and a fun day, a great recognition for the business and I hope and believe from here we will do more business with FNB. They have given us free speed points, so every driver will have a FNB speed point to transact on, which now turns our business into a digital cashless business in the township,” said Mahhumane. Mahhumane expressed gratitude to FNB, saying, “Thank you to FNB for the recognition and exposure. It will go a long way for us, helping to grow and enrich our vision of making Kasi D available in every township.”Refilwe Selepe who has been the Kasi D driver for over a year is happy with her new bike and their new way of paying methods. “I am happy with the bike as you can see it’s still fresh, no problems, I am also happy that we will use speed points cause it is risky working with hard cash more especially in the township where there is crime activities ” said Refilwe. Mahhumane’s team is gearing up for even more growth, their goal is to expand to most, if not all, townships across South Africa.
