Ivory Park man arrested for impersonating police officers
The police have arrested an Ivory Park man for having a police uniform, 97 rounds of live ammunition, reflectors, and a signal jammer. When the 37-year-old suspect was nabbed, he was still out on one thousand rand bail for a similar charge. He and two other people were caught in North West Province for possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition, and impersonating police officers. According to a statement issued by the police, the men were wearing the Tshwane Metro Police uniform.
The suspect was arrested on Thursday night at his home at Extension 14, Ivory Park. He is due to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Monday. The station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, has thanked the team for coming into his policing area and arresting the suspect, who, judging by his past, is one of the dangerous criminals in the community. “For the fact that he is being arrested for repeating the same crime that he was arrested for is telling,” We will encourage the assigned investigating officer to oppose bail in this matter vigorously,” said Brigadier Ngcobo
