GAUTENG CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES DISTRICT BREAKDOWN

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Gauteng as at 22 July 2020 sits at
144 582, with 77 397 recoveries and 1156 deaths.
Out of a total of 57 707 contacts traced (these are individuals who were in contact with people who tested positive for COVID-19); 42 002 people have completed the 14 days monitoring period with no symptoms reported and therefore they are de-isolated.
A total number of 5131 of people are currently hospitalized in the public and private
facilities.

Unallocated cases in the district

-Unallocated cases in the district breakdown refer to confirmed cases in Gauteng, that
are yet to be allocated to one of the five districts in the province.

-The unallocated cases reflected in the sub-district breakdown refer to cases confirmed in that district but have not been allocated to a subdistrict.

Data Harmonization

Allocating Gauteng cases to respective districts is ongoing. After obtaining further information on contact numbers and addresses from law enforcement agencies, provincial outbreak teams and the National Institute of Communicable Disease (NICD), we are able to make corrections where a case might have been incorrectly allocated to a particular district.
