EKURHULENI CITY TO SEND PROPERTY VALUERS
The City of Ekurhuleni has appointed Opti and Black Dot JV to compile the fourth General Valuation roll under the Municipality Rates Act. The General Valuation roll will be implemented on 01 July 2021 and will be valid until 30 June 2025.
As part of the compilation process, the municipality Valuer and his team will have to physically inspect properties and they will need access to carry out those inspections. Physical inspections of properties commenced on 4 February 2020 and will continue until November 2020.
Residents are reminded that before they let the data collectors onto their property, the collectors must show a specially designated identity card with their photo, full name, identity number, project personnel number and designation on.
Furthermore, all authorised valuers will wear uniforms which will be T-shirts, yellow bibs and white cricket hats or caps.The data collectors may only work between 7.30am and 7pm from Monday to Friday. However, special arrangements can be made for Saturday.
All owners of commercial properties are requested to cooperate with the Valuer and his team. Information that may be requested include lease agreements, plans for building and financial statements.
