The Boys Mentorship South Africa hosted Thembisa Boys Prayer on January 15 at Ebenezer Church in Tswelopele.According to the founder of the organisation, Mpumelelo Buthelezi, they had four main reasons they hosted this prayer:
“One was to submit 2022 plans to the Lord as the bible says in the book of proverbs 16:3 ” Ask the LORD to bless your plans, and you will be successful in carrying them out,” said Buthelezi.
“To demonstrate to his mentees the importance of putting God first in everything you do and how to communicate with God.”
“To reveal their true identity according to their maker, which is God.”
“Fourth, to introduce God as a loving father and show them what their heavenly father says and think about them.
He said they are grateful to the Lord that they could achieve their prayer goals, primarily in showing the boys from scriptures what the Lord says and thinks about them as his children, as demonstrated in the book of Jeremiah 29:11 King James Version.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
He thanks all the local brands that contributed to the success of the prayer. And Ebenezer church in Tswelopele for allowing them to use the church for worship, and brands such as Tinroof Eats, Leon Alfonso Fortunatti, and Seli D designs. He adds that the next project will be an event called ‘Lunch with my Dad’; this project is meant to create a bond between fathers and sons through team-building exercises.
“When we say father, we mean any male figure that plays a father role in the boy; it may be an uncle or a brother,” said Buthelezi.
