WEAR A MASK AS 22 MORE PEOPLE LOSE THEIR LIVES TO COVID-19
South Africa has recorded 22 more COVID-19 related deaths. That brings the new death toll to 705.
“As of today, the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 34 357. The Western Cape remains the epicentre with 22567 confirmed cases with Gauteng as the second province with a 4231 recorded cases,” announced Health Minister Zweli Mkhize.
“There are a total of 742 742 tests have been processed cumulatively of which 17 617 tests have been conducted since the last report,” he continued.
Meanwhile, people formed long queues as the sale of alcohol for home consumption resumes today. Liquor sales are permitted between Monday and Thursday, from 09h00 – 17h00. Residents of Olifantsfontein are reminded to wear masks all the time.
